ST. STEPHEN, THE FOUNDER SAINT
The school derives its name from the name of Stephen, the first Christian martyr of the first century
missionaries after Jesus Christ. St. Stephen is regarded as the “ FONDER SAINT” of the School and the “FOUNDER DAY” in the school is
celebrated on 15th February every year. This day is marked as St. Stephen’s Day in the Biblical Calender.
All our students are expected to be aware of who St. Stephen was.
The Holy Bible says that St. Stephen was a man, full of faith, wisdom and Holy Spirit. God richly blessed him,
and being full of power, he performed many great miracles and wonders among the people of the carly Church.
He spoke boldly against the Jewish leaders and the establishment in his mission to spread the Jewish
leaders and the establishment in his mission to spread the message of God. He warned them about their
rejection of God’s messengers and for not obeying God’s Laws. As the members of the Jewish /council listened to Stephen they
were furious and gnashed their teeth in anger. However, Stephen, being filled with grace and power,
looked up to Heaven and saw Jesus standing in glory at the right hand of God. Then,
the members of the council, with a loud cry, covered their eyes. Yelling at the top of their vices, they all rushed at him,
threw him out of the city and stones him to death. While he was being stoned, Stephen prayed to Jesus, like his master Jesus, for the forgiveness of the
sin of the very people who killed him.
Stephen demonstrated all the qualities of spiritual leadership in his brief life. He had
Faith, /wisdom and Inspiration by the Holy Spirit, Vision, Courage, Love, Forgiveness and Humility. The life of
St. Stephen discerned a glorious example of indomitable witness to Christ and of a radiant martyr.
...Le the exemplary life of St. Stephen inspire and influence the pupils of this school in the formation of their characters, They are
called to face the challenges in their lives more courageously whatever the price to pay.
